My name is Sage Zhou (周彦立) and I’m a computational cognitive scientist and AI researcher, deeply curious about how humans learn and reason flexibly and efficiently. My work lies at the intersection of understanding human behavior and developing cognitively-aligned machine learning models. Previously, I completed my PhD at the NYU Center for Data Science, where I was advised by Dr. Brenden Lake.
Outside of research, I create custom cakes that are a playful mix of flavor, form, and storytelling. I am also a ceramicist, a knitwear designer, and an avid student of glassblowing. For me, all forms of creative exploration are extensions of my passion for crafting things that delight and inspire.
